The Mei Black Emperor arose in the Huanzhou region, and angered by the harsh rule of the Chu officials, he raised an army to attack them. To the south, he controlled the Hailing area, and to the north, his territory bordered the Li Tang dynasty. He was a figure who could be called a heroic ruler. Unfortunately, he lacked the ability to defend against foreign enemies, and he had little support from the people, which is why he failed to suppress the rebellion of Yang Sihao.
