208. "Doing nothing" arises from several misunderstandings of meaning.

In this process of change, similar words are shifting to different meanings. "Having value" as an ethical concept shifts to "being able to receive economic value." "Being allowed to receive" as a psychological concept shifts to "necessary things will be provided" as a causal explanation. "Leaving it to nature" as an ecological concept shifts to "leaving life to the universe" as a cosmological perspective. "Not being attached to results" as a spiritual attitude shifts to "not needing to act for the sake of results" as an action-oriented approach.

"There is nothing you need to do for awakening," this non-dualistic idea shifts into an economic argument that "you don't need to do anything even for living." Each shift is small, but when accumulated, it becomes a quite large logical leap.
