251. And there is a reason why that ideology sells in society.
Therefore, in order to understand this phenomenon, it is not enough to simply ask "Why do people believe such things?" Rather, we need to ask "Why are these words so appealing in today's society?"
- I must continue to work.
- I must continue to grow.
- I must continue to improve myself.
- I must design my own future.
- Failure is one's own responsibility.
- Taking care of oneself in old age is also one's own responsibility.
- Health is also one's own responsibility.
- Career development is also one's own responsibility.
In such a society, the phrase "I don't need to try anymore" appears. That itself might be quite a natural reaction.
252. The problem lies in shifting from "you can rest" to "the universe will nurture you."
To someone who is tired, say "You can rest." To someone who cannot achieve results, say "Even if you don't produce results, your value as a human being does not diminish." To someone who carries everything themselves, say "It's okay to rely on others." To someone who is tired of trying to control the future, say "It's okay even if you cannot predict everything."
These, each of them, can be sufficiently understood. However,
Even if you take a break, it's okay. It's okay even if you don't work. It's okay even if you do nothing. Even then, what is necessary will be provided to you. Because the universe is abundant.
And as it progresses, it shifts to a different argument. Initially, it was about psychological relief. In the end, it becomes a causal law where the world provides material resources to individuals. It is important not to miss this boundary.
