These originate from different places than the concept of "attraction." However, they share a worldview that includes: "modern society has become too disconnected from nature," "humans have tried to control the world too much," "we should rely more on natural processes," and "we should move away from mass production and mass consumption."

Therefore, interactions with New Age and spiritual movements were likely to occur.

127. What happens when environmental thought and spirituality are mixed?

• In environmental philosophy, it is said that "nature has the ability to self-regulate."
• In spirituality, it is said that "the universe has a perfect flow."
• In natural farming, it is said to "leave it to nature."
• In the law of attraction, it is said to "leave it to the universe."
• In non-duality, it is said that "individuals are not doing everything themselves."

The words are very similar. Therefore, originally different ideologies are connected by a common language of "leaving it to the larger flow."

128. From there, an "antithesis to modern society as a whole" emerges.

In this cultural sphere, criticisms not only of work styles but also of agriculture, food, medicine, education, economics, finance, corporations, government, science, and technology can be integrated into a single worldview. The basic narrative is that "humans have made the world artificially complex through artificial systems, which was originally natural." Therefore,

• Return to nature.
• Listen to the voice of your body.
• Follow your intuition.
• Help each other in the local community.
• Be self-sufficient.
• Reduce dependence on money.

The following direction emerges.

The ideology at this stage is quite different from "the universe will give you money if you do nothing." Rather, it is an ideology that seeks to change the very mechanisms of society.

129. From Social Transformation to Realizing Personal Desires.

However, significant changes have also occurred here. In the old counterculture,

• Change society.
• Create a community.
• Experiment with new lifestyles.
• Transform agriculture.
• Reduce consumption.

That direction was stronger.

However, in modern spirituality, there is a tendency to shift towards idealizing one's own life. Even if society as a whole does not change, it is enough for someone to say, "I quit my job and became free." Even if the agricultural system does not change, it is enough for someone to say, "I am living an organic lifestyle." Even if the economic system does not change, it is enough for someone to say, "I am attracting abundance into my life." In other words, what was once a social utopia has shrunk to become a personal utopia.
